JAMES P. KRAUZLIS, Partner

Mr. Krauzlis graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science Degree, Major in Marine Transportation and Minor in Marine Petroleum Operations, and with a United States Coast Guard Deck Officer’s License, unlimited tonnage, all oceans. He sailed with Moore-McCormack Lines, Prudential Lines, United States Lines and American Export Lines. He graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree.

Formerly a partner with Donovan Maloof Walsh, Kennedy and Repetto and Badiak and Will, LLP, he handles all phases of admiralty, transportation and insurance litigation and appellate proceedings, including charter party disputes, arbitration, collisions, strandings, cargo claims (ocean marine, inland marine, trucking, air, rail and warehousing). He has been involved in all aspects of commercial litigation, concentrating in the areas of cargo subrogation (ocean marine, inland marine, trucking, rail, air and warehousing) as well as matters in the areas of the law of salvage and general average. He has experience in litigation, arbitration, mediation and insurance coverage disputes in virtually every state in the United States, has conducted numerous seminars relating to cargo subrogation and recovery and has been involved in several major international marine casualties and has participated in many on-board casualty investigations.

He is a member of the New York and New Jersey State Bar, and practices in all New York and New Jersey State and Federal Courts.
